If you're from one of the local school districts that can't get up the scratch to fund a library (cf. Eastport-South Manor, East Moriches, East Quogue), I strongly suggest that you consider giving Riverhead a good look in making your July choice. They're friendly as hell, tied into the small town vibe, unpretentious and what's best, they don't lock up their CD's as some of your other choices do.
Love the serenity of the library and the smell of books. Love that I can download books to my nook.

Lots of friendly and helpful people working here! If you're looking for books, movies, printing, information, etc. The Riverhead Free Library is the place to go. They have excellent kids programs and activities and even a play area for kids. Great place to go as I was growing up.
